두릅 (DURB)
두릅은 7-80년대 아프리카 나이지리아 등지에서 Fela Kuti를 중심으로 성행했던 Afrobeat를 플레이하는 셀렉터이다. 아프리카 음악의 뿌리를 좇아 Ethio-jazz, Desert Blues를 가미하기도 한다. 또한 이러한 African Classic에 국한되지 않고, 이를 현대적으로 재해석한 음악들을 적절히 섞어 들려준다. 때로는 최근 흥행하고 있는 아프리카 전자 음악류인 Amapiano나 Afrobeats, Afrohouse 음악 셋을 준비하기도 하는데, Classic한 아프리카 음악의 뿌리를 잊지 않으며 이를 표현하는 것에 적지 않은 노력을 하고 있다. 2016년, 일년 간 아프리카에 체류하면서 느꼈던 자유로움과 흥의 그루브를 재현하기 위해 음악을 탐구하고 있다.

Durb is a music selector who usually plays ‘Afrobeat music’ established by Nigerian musician Fela Kuti from 70s to 80s. He adds and combines some other African roots music like Ethio-jazz or Desert blues. He does not only limit his musical spectrum to these ‘African classics’ but also mixes ‘modern reinterpretations.’ Sometimes, he prepares African electro-music sets like Amapiano, Afrobeats, and Afrohouse; which are very popular recently, he makes every effort to represent the source of classics and not to lose African roots. Now, he explores music to express the feeling of grooves, freedom and passion while he stayed in Africa for an year, in 2016.
