신한태와 레게소울은 리더 신한태(보컬, 기타)를 주축으로 이시환(베이스), 정윤후(드럼), 박현식(건반), 진형철(기타), 탁선영, 명은지(코러스)로 이루어진, 루츠레게(Roots Reggae)를 기반으로 다양한 스타일의 레게를 끊임없이 시도하고 있는 따끈따끈한 신예 밴드이다.

7, 80’s 영국, 자메이카의 레게 사운드를 그들의 정서로 표현하는 신한태와 레게소울은, 2018년 이북의 실상에 대해 궁금해하는 소년의 인류애적 관점을 담은 곡인 ‘38선’으로 통일부 주최의 유니뮤직레이스, 같은해 부천 대학가요제에서 각각 금, 은상을 수상한 이후, 본격적으로 의기투합하여 현재의 면모를 갖추게 되었다.

레게의 메세지와 사운드에 진지하게 몰두하는 동시에, 20대 초중반의 풋풋한 감성으로 루츠레게 사운드를 표현하는 뛰어난 감각과 탄탄한 연주력, 스마일리 송 Smiley Song의 프로듀싱/믹싱, 박준 감독의 덥 버전 믹스/마스터링, 청달의 A&R 등 동양표준음향사 크루의 짜임새 있는 프로덕션이 함께한 데뷔 정규앨범 Ark of Ideals은 2020년 7월 9일 온/오프라인으로 발매된다.

Formed in 2018, Shin Hantae & The Reggae Soul is an award-winning South Korean roots reggae, dub band expressing 70s and 80s British and Jamaican reggae sound with their own vibes.

Their 1st full-length album, Ark of Ideals produced by Smiley Song, the 1st generation of Korean reggae, will be released on July 9, 2020 via Eastern Standard Sounds. Focusing on the reggae message and sound, the album features their extraordinary performance and Dubwiser Park Jun and Cheong Dahl's in-depth production.
